We are thrilled to announce that we have been named a
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT recipient!
This award- combined with the amazing Clifton Park Improvement committee fundraising efforts and the SEED GRANT- has officially pushed us over our $125,000 goal! Because of this, we are able to expand our project to beyond playground equipment, new ideas and possibilities are coming.
Thank you to everyone who has supported, donated and cheered us on throughout the first step of this journey. This project wouldn't be possible without our incredible community.

The Clifton Park Improvement Committee is seeking your help to make our park a fun, safe place for all to enjoy! Whether you live in Clifton or have visited for ball games, school activities, community events, or more, there's a good chance you or a loved one has benefited from the playground. After serving the community well for almost 20 years, the existing structures are in need of replacement. We plan to update the playground by installing new commercial grade structures in 2026. We hope you are as excited about this next phase of Berner Memorial Park are we are.
Please help us reach our goal of $125,000 by donating to the Clifton Park Improvement Fund with the Washington County Community Foundation. Donors will be recognized in one of several ways, depending on their minimum donation:
- Level 1: $100
- Level 2: $250
- Level 3: $500
- Level 4: $1,000
- Level 5: $2,500
For those interested in larger donations, there will be naming rights for each of the structures. If interested, please reach out to one of the committee members below, or email your contact information to airikalong@gmail.com and we will reach out to you!
To donate, go online to https://washingtoncountycf.org/ and click on the red “Give Online” button. Scroll down until you find the “Clifton Park Improvement Fund,” and be sure to type in the gift notes section how you want your name to appear. Alternatively, you can mail a check postmarked by 12/31/25 to the Washington County Community Foundation at PO Box 24, Washington, KS 66968, with “Clifton Park Improvement Fund” in the memo. Donor names will be recognized as they appear on the check unless otherwise requested by emailing airikalong@gmail.com.
